A Pawsitively Great Wedding

How I’m Putting a Dif-fur-ent Spin on My Big Day

Flowers, cakes, dancing, friends and family – these are the usual thoughts that may pop up when thinking about a wedding. From picking out the dress to arranging the guest list, there are plenty of details that need to be sorted before the big day. For me, I’m most looking forward to the inclusion of my children on the day I marry my handsome prince charming. However, my children may look a bit different than yours…

They have a bit of fur and some paws and they love to bark, play and snuggle.

Yes, my four girls are my adorable, loving dogs. While it’s not entirely uncommon for dogs to be a part of weddings these days, it’s still not quite “the norm.” But, if you know me, you know that it’d be impawsible for me to be wed without my girls by my side – Lily, Rosie, Ruby, and Tilly will be the most beautiful flower girls ever!

As the owner of Puff & Fluff Grooming and Pet Sitting, I work with dogs and their loving humans on a daily basis. So, how could I not have dogs around me on the biggest day of my life?! My dogs are truly my children – the human variety just isn’t for me – and they are just as much a part of this union as me and my fiance are.

If you’re hoping to have your furry friends join you on your big day too, make sure the venue is a dog friendly one! That was a huge factor for me before making my final decision; fur-tunately for me, the folks at the gorgeous Hermosa Inn are just as crazy about dogs as I am!

To make this wedding truly special, we will of course be providing dog treats and party favors for our furry guests. I’ve chosen Puppy Belly Deli as the pup caterer because the owner buys ingredients from the same farmer’s markets and grocers where I shop for my human food! Why feed your best friend something you wouldn’t eat yourself? I don’t want my furry guests to feel like an afterthought – my four-legged friends are as important as all of my other guests!

Photos are also a great way to incorporate dogs, so I’ve also made sure to include plenty of pooch-loving photo opportunities at my wedding. You can dress up your pups, get fun props, and cherish the photographs for years to come!

Including dogs – or any animals for that matter! – in a wedding doesn’t have to drive you barking mad! Yes, weddings can be stressful, but it’s been proven that dogs help humans reduce stress…so, it’s a no-brainer to have your pooch by your side as you say “I do.” I’m so excited that my girls will be with me on March 3, 2018 and I can’t imagine it any other way!
