Are you sitting in a cubicle right now reading this blog? Or are you sitting at home in the evening, reading this blog dreading going to work tomorrow morning? Then you are reading the right blog right now. I’m going to tell you it is so important to do something that you love. Whatever that looks like for you, you need to be doing it. I’m not saying you need to do it full-time or even part-time. Doing it as a hobby is a great place to start. I truly believe that people need to do what they love, and what they’re passionate about. I also know we all have to make a living, right?

I really want you to grab a piece of paper after you get done reading this, and list out the things that you’re passionate about. This will allow you to brainstorm and really take action on what you are passionate about.
When I have employees that are working for me, and I feel that they’re not passionate about their work anymore, I literally go up to them I asked them, “are you passionate about what you do for a living”? If the answer is no, I tell them they need to go out and find what they’re passionate about. I might be losing a good team member, but I truly believe, and I stand by that fact that people need to do what they are most passionate about.
I understand you have to make a living, and I want you to make a living, but I really also want you in your free time to do something that you’re passionate about. It will speak volumes about who you are, and you will enjoying life so much more every day. You never know, that passion might turn into a thriving business for you. You have to start somewhere.
Now what? I’m going to tell you that the Internet is the most powerful tool, the most powerful tool that you will use right now. I say this, because I found my freedom from Google. I loved animals, I knew I wanted to be surrounded by animals, I knew I wanted to be a business owner, therefore I started Googling. I was sitting in a cubicle, Googling how to have freedom. I really wasn’t searching the exact words “how do I have freedom”, but I was searching for what kind of business I could have access to. Now you need to know, I didn’t know anything about the pet grooming business, but I knew that I could learn as I was so eager to do something on my own. All I knew was I could own and operate a business, and I love animals. Simple as that.
I researched, I learned, I Googled, I did whatever it took to learn everything about grooming. Did I actually learn how to physically do it, no. But I know everything about it. I am a master of grooming, and know a lot about it. I know what my customers want. As I move further in the journey of success, I will share with you why I didn’t feel I needed to actually get grooming equipment and learn to groom.
I’m writing this, to tell you that research is so important. Research can teach us anything that we really need to know. I feel so strongly about educating, teaching, and researching. So when you feel like you’re stuck in a little rut. Whatever that rut looks like, go to your computer and start Googling. You can Google anything now days, so educate and teach yourself something that you don’t know. The power of research is amazing.
I’ll give you an example, I never knew how to make Facebook cover photos with multiple images, seems so simple upload a picture, right? No it actually is not that simple. It takes different dimensions for the photo to be placed correctly on your Facebook cover photo. So I’m struggling one night how can I create a new Facebook cover photo…. Something simple, but I didn’t know. I’ll be the first to admit when I don’t know something and when I need to go on Google and find out how the heck to do it. So I found two places where you can upload photos and make a Facebook cover photo. Of course I’m going to share those two links with you: picmonkey.com and canva.com and there you have it, I built my Facebook cover photo.
So when you’re in a rut next time with how to move forward, where to start, you’re confused, know that you have resources at hand, research, educate yourself on how to be successful. I can’t wait to share more with you about my business ventures, until next time.
Be local, xoxo!
